Heute in der Berliner Morgenpost: Die Ausstellung Heute in der Berliner Morgenpost: Die Ausstellung „Echoes & Constructs“ wird zur Bühne für vier künstlerische Auseinandersetzungen mit Erinnerung, Geschichte und visueller Wahrnehmung. Wir zeigen hier vier Zitate aus dem Artikel und laden euch ein, die Werke selbst zu erleben. Armando Mariño: „Das Bild eines weißen Kindes, das sich angstvoll die Ohren zuhält, flankiert von zwei afrikanischen Masken, Mariño konfrontiert die westliche Welt mit der verdrängten Geschichte des Kolonialismus.“ Jose Girl: „In den Fotografien von Jose Girl verschwimmen Licht und Traum sie wirken wie malerische Visionen im Halbdunkel des Unterbewussten.“ MASCH: „MASCH greift urbane Struktur und digitale Unruhe auf seine Bilder wirken wie flackernde Erinnerungsfragmente aus der Gegenwart.“ Juan Miguel Pozo: „Pozo dekonstruiert Bildarchive der Geschichte seine Werke sind Überlagerungen von Symbolen, Geschichte und persönlicher Herkunft.“ Echoes & Constructs Noch bis 23. Armando Mariño – Echoes & Constructs full Inter Armando Mariño – Echoes & Constructs full Interview in our SmartBIO⬅️ “That fragile epiphany, when you sense the potential of an image that hasn’t yet arrived, is extraordinary. The possibility that it could go wrong, disappear, or evolve into something unexpected, this is what makes painting magical.” For Cuban artist Armando Mariño, painting exists in a space between possibility and loss of control. Echoes & Constructs Group exhibition featuring wor Echoes & Constructs Group exhibition featuring works by Jose Girl, MASCH, Armando Mariño, Juan Miguel Pozo 🗓 July 4 – August 23, 2025 | Opening: July 4, 5–8 pm 📍 janinebeangallery | Torstraße 154 | 10115 Berlin Echoes & Constructs brings together four artistic positions that address the relationship between image and reality, memory and the present, construction and fragment. Juan Miguel Pozo, born in 1967 in Holguín, Cuba, came to Europe in 1994. His work engages with socialist aesthetics, architecture, and historical memory. He paints architectural fragments – floating staircases, isolated façades, and urban relics – that evoke vanished futures and ideological residues. His compositions connect dystopia and utopia, Eastern modernism and the Caribbean, Berlin and Havana. Pozo’s works are part of major collections including PAMM Miami, the Falckenberg Collection and the Ludwig Collection.
